Our goal at the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) is to make humanitarian data easy to find and use for analysis. Thanks to our users, we now have over 3,800+ datasets publicly available, covering 244 locations worldwide. As more organisations join HDX, we want to make sure adding data is as easy as possible. Today, we are very excited to release a simplified workflow.

What’s new in ‘Add data’?

To-Add data-is now-easy-01 Bulk file upload – HDX now supports drag & drop of multiple files to attach to a dataset.
To-Add data-is now-easy-05 Google Drive and Dropbox integration – You can now connect* to your Google Drive and Dropbox accounts and directly choose and attach multiple files to a dataset. (*requires login)
To-Add data-is now-easy-02 Single page form for adding and editing data – Whether you are adding a new dataset or updating an existing dataset, you can now attach a file and fill out metadata on one page. We’ve also pre-populated some of the required fields to make the process quicker.
To-Add data-is now-easy-03 Less required fields for private datasets – To make it easier to share data with organisation members, private datasets can be submitted with less metadata.
To-Add data-is now-easy-04 Update frequency (new feature) – Update frequency is a new metadata field. It asks how often you think the dataset will be updated (i.e., every day, every month, never and so on). When the time comes to update your data, HDX will send a reminder.
